What is the payment deadline for unemployment benefits?
The time limit for payment of the single unemployment benefit in the amount of RON 2775, provided for in Law No 69/2020 establishing measures during the state of public health emergency and amending certain legislative actsextending to 30 November 2020.
In the Official Gazette of 1 August this year was published Decision No 591 of 31.7.2020 concerning the extension of the deadline for payment of the single unemployment benefit.
We would point out that Law No 69/2020 approved the grant of a single unemployment benefit in the amount of RON 2775 to the holders of the business patent and to persons subject to the tax under Chapter 10.2 and 103 of the Fiscal Code, which carries out activities in the field of trade and/or the provision of services in commercial markets and centres, which ceased their activity between 16 May and 30 June 2020, in accordance with the decisions of the Extraordinary National Public Health Commission, in proportion to the days of cessation during that period, provided that they did not receive insured income in April 2020.
At the same time, in accordance with that Law, The Government is in law decide to extend the time limits for the application of the rules contained in Article III of the document.
The extension decision is taken, including in the context of multiple referrals from unemployment benefit beneficiaries as well as from the State Tax Service.
The unemployment benefit is paid by the National Social Insurance Fund, through the payment service providers, and if the beneficiary has not designated the provider, the payment is transferred to the post office.
