Horticultural operators will be able to access loans on favourable terms for business development following enlargement Project “Livada Moldovei” until 27 May 2023.

The government approved the ratification Amendment 3 to the Financing Contract between the Republic of Moldova and the European Investment Bank (EIB) signed on 21 September 2021 and the Amendment to the Side Letter on the Financing Contract for the implementation of the “Livada Moldovei” Project, signed on 31 July 2014.

Untapped financial means from the initial project budget will be able to be used to modernise the agri-food sector, accessed through lending and leasing operations. Financial solutions will give farmers the opportunity to expand their business and help make domestic products more competitive on the internal and external market. Therefore, horticultural and wine companies will be able to use loans for the technology and mechanisation of production processes, the provision of irrigation and anti-hail systems for orchards and other plantations, the modernisation of post-harvest processes, the development of nurseries for the production of native propagating material, and the diversification of market outlets.

Total budget for implementation Project “Livada Moldovei” constituted EUR 120 millionof which still available EUR 59 million. Loans under the project can be accessed at a convenient interest rate with a recovery deadline of maximum 10 years. The minimum amount of credit is EUR 5 thousand.
