Women IN BUSINESS, a new opportunity for the women’s business community
Petru Gurgurov, acting Director General ODIMM, highlighted the importance of developing female entrepreneurship in the Republic of Moldova. “We welcome that ODIMM is a partner and implementer of the Women in Business Project, in the framework of the Danube Transnational Programme. This is complementary to projects supporting women in business, which the IMMO is already implementing and enabling the promotion of entrepreneurship on a larger scale", mentioned Petru Gurgurov.

Iulia Costin, Secretary General of the Ministry of Economy and Infrastructure, founding and president of the Moldovan National Women Platform, welcomed the activities of the Women in Business project, noting that women need support and any initiatives to promote women are welcome. “In Moldova 27 percent of entrepreneurs are women. This figure indicates that there are women who can serve as a model of engagement and responsibility, who in turn can inspire young women with unexplored entrepreneurial potential," said Iulia Costin.
“A first component of the Women in Business project aims at analysing the current situation, i.e. identifying the needs and barriers faced by young women wishing to create and develop their own business in order to subsequently create a supportive policy agenda. To validate the results of the project activities, workshops with target group representatives will be organised on a regular basis,” mentioned Silvia Cangea, WOMEN IN BUSINESS project coordinator.
Please note that the WOMEN IN BUSINESS Project – “Promoting entrepreneurship among young people in the Danube region” aims to encourage young women with innovative ideas to successfully launch and develop their own business. The project lasts 36 months and is implemented by a consortium of 14 partners from 9 Danube countries: Austria, Bulgaria, Croatia, Germany, Slovenia, Hungary, Romania, Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Republic of Moldova and bring together national and regional organisations, public and private organisations.
