ODIMM supports domestic companies in accessing new markets. Thus, the former 39 companies signed today grant contracts with the Organisation for the Development of the Small and Medium-sized Enterprises Sector through the Programme for Supporting Businesses with High Growth Potential and their Internationalisation. They will receive financial support in the form of Business voucher up to RON 100 thousand to procure business development services for expansion into foreign markets. The signature of the contracts was done via electronic signature in an online event.

Present at the event, Iuliana Drăgălin, State Secretary of the Ministry of the Economy (MEI) and Infrastructure noted that the state will continuously support initiatives to attract investment and boost exports.

“It is an important step towards accessing a diversified and competitive external market, potential business development partners and the opportunity to benefit from the foreign investment needed to accelerate business growth, attract skilled labour, efficient logistics and other important benefits for business growth”.

ODIMM Director, Iulia Costin he congratulated the entrepreneurs who had the courage and perseverance to come up with new approaches towards the internationalisation of the business.

“I congratulate you on your chance to be one of the winners of the first call for investment projects. We welcome the increased interest of the Moldovan business environment in promoting products and services on foreign markets, finding new business partnerships and integrating into value chains. The programme’s support will help companies adopt international standards, deploy new technologies and position themselves on a new stage of development”.

The amount of non-repayable funding provided by the State to the 39 businesses in the form of Business Voucher it will be about RON 3 million. The value of investments from entrepreneurs’ own contribution is around RON 1.5 million.

Accessing business development services requested by companies aims to: creation of brandbook and visibility elements; development of business process optimisation systems; assessment of the company with a view to implementing national and international standards; accessing employee training and development courses; advice and assistance on the registration of intellectual property objects and the preparation of strategic development and expansion plans in new market outlets.

Of the total number of companies receiving support, 17 active in industry sector (manufacture of wet wipes, metal constructions and wood; manufacture of wearing apparel, perfumes and cosmetics; production of microfibres from precious metals; wood processing, manufacture of furniture and upholstered articles). At the same time, 15 businesses are active in scope of the provision of services (media promotion and polygraphic printing including graphic design; catering; Agreement and tourism; design and tracing of electrical installations; consultancy in various fields; information technologies). Other 7 companies active in agri-food sector (growing and marketing of tree nuts, fruit and vegetables, apiculture products).

At the same time, 28 companies have export experience (EU, Canada, United States, Malaysia, Hong Kong, Singapore, Israel, China, Andorra) and plans to expand into new markets; and 11 are at the stage of charting the road to internationalisation of the business.

The programme to support businesses with high growth potential and their internationalisation was approved by Government Decision No 439 of July 01, 2020. The aim of the Programme is to contribute to sustainable economic growth by attracting investment, enhancing the competitiveness and productivity of the Moldovan HMM, as well as its internationalisation. Under the programme, MSMEs will benefit from information and advisory support, financial assistance in the form of ‘Business Voucher’ of up to RON 100.000 and ‘Grants’ of up to RON 2 million. MSMEs that have been active on the market for at least 2 years, demonstrate continuous growth and plan to expand into new market outlets or substitute imports of products or services into the Republic of Moldova may participate in the Programme.
