a Baw logoToday, the Small and Medium-sized Enterprise Development Organisation delivered certificates of participation to 27 female entrepreneurs from various economic fields in Sângerei, who followed the entrepreneurial training programme under the EU-funded Business Academy for Women project.
During 6 training days, conducted on the premises of the Sângerei Business Incubatorthe project participants had the opportunity to convince themselves whether the management system of the company they manage is good or needs improvement, to conclude whether the costs that are incurred in producing the products or services of their companies are justified, whether the products or services meet the expectations of customers, to learn how to access new market outlets by making the products and services compatible with the requirements of the external market.
The advantage of the training programme is to practically address the topics by using real-life exercises and case studies inspired by everyday business practice.
The outcome of such training contributes to the capacity building of the enterprises managed by the project participants and the development of a culture of cooperation between entrepreneurs, the creation of local, regional and national networks, collaboration and support between entrepreneurs.
The Baw coordinators reiterated that this project aims at obtaining new professional skills as well as accessing a grant aimed at developing the company’s production capacities.

Baw was initiated in February this year and has a 18-month continuity. The project will train some 300 Moldovan businesswomen free of charge on how to make their business model more efficient and steer their companies towards expanding their market, including exports. At the end of the training, 10 women entrepreneurs will be selected to receive grants of EUR 6 thousand each for the implementation of the projects.
For the first time for Moldova, this project includes the PLATO strand inspired by the PLATO programme, which involves the transfer of knowledge from experienced entrepreneurs to female entrepreneurs who want to grow, with the possibility for successful entrepreneurs to share their experience and the secrets of their successes.
The project is funded by the European Union (EU), implemented by the Organisation for the Development of Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (ODIMM) in partnership with the International Centre for the Promotion of Women in Business (ICAWB).
