19 February 2025, Chisinau — With the end of the state of emergency, the Government comes with measures to ensure the continuity of the electricity compensation programme for economic operators. The project also provides for more adjustments that make the programme more accessible and efficient.
This will ensure that 50 % of the electricity tariff increase will continue to be compensated by the government. At the same time, three key improvements are introduced, which foresee:
Deletion of the 3 % criterion. If previously, in order to be eligible, it was necessary for the electricity expenditure in 2024 to have represented at least 3 % of the company’s revenue, together with the new regulations, this criterion is excluded.
More time for application. The time limit shall be extended from 10 days to 30 days from the date of issue of the invoice.
Support for 12 months. If previously foreseen for January, February and March only, the new improvements foresee the 12 months of 2025.
The programme to compensate for the increase in electricity prices for enterprises has a total budget of 300 million lei, which will be provided by the European Union.
The programme will significantly contribute to maintaining the competitiveness of businesses in our country so that the increase in the electricity price does not affect production costs. This will support the business environment and preserve the country’s economic stability.
