The Business Academy for Women (Baw) information campaign started in Cimișlia
The Organisation for the Development of Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (ODIMM) has launched a campaign to promote the Business Academy for Women (Baw) project aimed at female entrepreneurs in all parts of the country. The first briefing was held at the Business Incubator. Cimișlia, where 30 businesswomen were familiarised with the benefits of the Business Academy for Women (Baw) training on increasing the managerial skills of female entrepreneurs.The aim of this initiative is to develop an entrepreneurial culture among female managers in the small and medium-sized enterprise sector, to support business development in the context of problems relating to the management of a business and to increase its competitiveness at national and international level.
In the Baw Project overview, business women were informed about the needs for entrepreneurial development identified by the analysis of the current situation of business women in the Republic of Moldova, including in the Transnistrian and UTA Gagauzia regions.
Women entrepreneurs were also made aware of the opportunities offered by the Baw Project to increase managerial skills, acquire new professional skills, export possibilities with the European Union under the DCFTA Agreement, and obtain a grant aimed at developing enterprise production capacities, introducing innovative elements into the products and services provided.
Tatiana Batușchina, President of the International Centre for the Promotion of Women in Business (ICAWB), an ODIMM project partner, carried out a short retrospective of the training modules, and the benefits obtained by female entrepreneurs from participating in the training sessions, as well as the added value that women entrepreneurs can subsequently bring to their regions by implementing the knowledge gained in practice.
“It is important to have a clear vision of where you are active, know your own and your business capacities, learn about the market situation and modern and competitive working trends that will allow a secure development of the business under competitive conditions,” stressed Tatiana Batușchina.
The outreach event ended with a Q & A session during which most participants showed willingness to register for the Baw Project.
The information campaign on the benefits offered by the Baw Project will be organised through the Network of Business Incubators in Moldova (RIAM), in all 10 units throughout the Republic of Moldova. The Business Academy for Women project is funded by the European Union, implemented by the Organisation for the Development of Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (ODIMM) in partnership with the International Centre for the Promotion of Women in Business (ICAWB). Baw was initiated in February this year and has a 18-month continuity. The project will train some 300 Moldovan businesswomen free of charge on how to make their business model more efficient and direct their companies to export. At the end of the training, 10 women entrepreneurs will be selected to receive grants of EUR 6 thousand each for the implementation of the projects.
