Ten Moldovan companies will receive state grants for business internationalisation
Ten companies exporting products and services to foreign markets will receive up to RON 2 million in the form of a grant from the State and with the support of the project ‘Advice to the Government of the Republic of Moldova in Economic Policies’, implemented by GIZ Moldova with the financial support of the German and Swiss Governments. They were approved today, 6 January by the Coordination Committee of the Business support programme with growth and internationalisation potentialmanaged by The Small and Medium-sized Enterprises Sector Development Organisation.
Targeted companies in areas such as digital marketing, breakfast cereal production, mineral water production, honey processing, glycerine production, production of fruit fillings for confectionery and patisserie products, manufacture of recyclable paper cups, production of fruit and nuts in chocolate will internationalise their business through the grant provided through Business support programme with high growth potential and their internationalisation.
Within the financial support under the scheme of ‘Grant’ the total amount of investment resulting from the implementation of the investment projects will constitute RON 28 291 923of which the amount of the grant constitutes RON 12 836 501.
Of the total number of SMUs whose Investment Projects have been proposed for funding for the scheme of ‘Grant’60 % have up to 9 employees, 20 % have up to 49 employees, 20 % have up to 249 employees. At the same time, of the total number of SMEs financed, 50 % achieve an annual turnover of up to RON 9 million30 % achieve an annual turnover of up to RON 25 million20 % achieve an annual turnover of up to RON 50 million.

At the same time, the Committee meeting approved the offer of eight Business Vouchere with a breakdown of RON 100 thousand to access business development services for a total amount of RON 428 419.
Through the Business Support Programme with high growth and internationalisation potential Moldovan products and services will be available on international markets in countries such as Romania, Ukraine, Germany, Sweden, Switzerland, Ireland, France, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Canada, the USA, Israel, the United Arab Emirates, Russia, Belarus, as well as other states in Europe and Asia.
The programme to support businesses with high growth potential and their internationalisation was approved by Government Decision No 439 of July 01, 2020. The aim of the Programme is to contribute to sustainable economic growth by attracting investment, enhancing the competitiveness and productivity of the Moldovan HMM, as well as its internationalisation. Under the programme, MSMEs benefit from information and advisory support, financial assistance in the form of Business Voucher of up to RON 100.000 and Grants of up to RON 2 million. MSMEs that have been active on the market for at least 2 years, demonstrate continuous growth and plan to expand into new market outlets or substitute imports of products or services into the Republic of Moldova may participate in the Programme.
The programme was prepared by the Ministry of Economy in cooperation with ODIMM with the support of the technical assistance of the European Union Project “Quality Infrastructure in the Context of DCFTA”.
