On June 03, 2021, The Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Moldova (CCI of the Republic of Moldova) and the Organisation for the Development of Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (ODIMM), inaugurated the virtual exhibition “SMExpo 2021”taking place on the platform www.virtual-fairs.md.

The event for the official opening of the exhibition, which took place in a mixed format, was attended by Sergiu Harea, the President of the CCI of the Republic of Moldova, Iulia Costin, Director-General ODIMM, Silviu Costea, The President of the Brașov CCI, Constantin VIERU, President of the Bilateral Chamber of Commerce and Industry Republic of Moldova-Romania, national and international KIC partners and, last but not least, the 40 exhibiting companies.

“SMExpo 2021” it is an event aimed at exposing small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) from all sectors of the Moldovan economy to an audience without borders, with the aim of facilitating global business activity, increasing the number of contacts and contracts, finding new customers or suppliers and capitalising on the image of RM as a reliable economic partner.

Sergiu Harea, in his speech, he mentioned: “Taking into account this rather complicated period and the experience of international partners, we believe that this exhibition, and more generally the virtual-fairs.md platform, is one of the best ways to promote our companies, their products and services in a dynamic and interactive way. The participants of the exhibition have the opportunity to research the opinion of consumers, to highlight their level of competitiveness, to get to know new partners and investors, saving time, resources and means. Together with ODIMM, which will fully reimburse the participation of domestic SMEs, we have managed to register 40 exhibitors from different areas of activity, such as: agri-food, textiles, wine, machinery, machinery, machinery and appliances, provision of services, toys and hand-made works, etc.’.

At the event, Iulia Costin, Director-General ODIMM reiterated the importance of the participation of the HMM in fairs and exhibitions.

“Fairs and exhibitions are an integral part of marketing tools and the participation of small and medium-sized enterprises is important to analyse competition and find new development opportunities. ODIMM facilitates the promotion of local business at fairs and exhibitions to increase its visibility on both the local and international market. Thus, economic operators participating in the ‘SMExpo 2021’ virtual exhibition will be able to reimburse 100 % of their participation fee of RON 2000 through the ‘Programme for promoting the participation of economic operators in fairs and exhibitions’, managed by ODIMM’.

In the exhibition room, each SME is represented at a personalised virtual stand. Visitors can find out more about their companies, products and services by simply clicking, but they can also interact directly with the representatives of each stand by messaging or scheduling B2B meetings (with video and audio).

According to the agenda, between 15-18 June 2021representatives of companies abroad will attend B2B meetings with participants of virtual stands.
