People in the village of Ustia were informed about the opportunities and tools for developing a business
Around 40 inhabitants of the village of Ustia, Dubăsari district, attended an information session on Tuesday 28 February on business development opportunities and tools and support provided by the Government of the Republic of Moldova and development partners.The event was organised by the local public administration and representatives of the Organisation for the Development of Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (ODSME) were invited. who presented the entrepreneurship support programmes, representatives of the Agency for Intervention and Payments in Agriculture (AIPA), who presented the Regulation on the distribution of resources of the National Fund for the Development of Agriculture and Rural Environment 2017 and representatives of the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD), who presented the Rural Economic Development Programme.
ODIMM experts mentioned that entrepreneurs or people who want to start a business can benefit from information support, trainings, grants and financial support for their businesses under the programmes Efficient Business Management (GEA)which aims to increase the level of knowledge of economic operators in order to carry out an efficient economic activity, National Youth Economic Ability Programme (PNAET)training young people who want to develop their entrepreneurial skills, start or expand their own business in rural areas, etc.
In the discussions, those interested were urged to invest the money received from remittances in the opening of a business by applying to “PARE 1 + 1” programme for the drawing of remittances in the economy. The programme provides information and financial support to people with an entrepreneurial initiative, who are determined to shift money from remittances to investments.
Entrepreneurs who do not have the possibility to pledge bank loans to open or expand their business can apply to the programme Credit Guarantee Fund (CRF). ODIMM guarantees credit taken by beneficiaries on the basis of partnerships established with commercial banks at a small percentage.
Women in Ustia were urged to start their own business and apply to Component I of the Project “Women in business”it started earlier this year. The project aims to make women participate more actively in the social-economic life of local communities and the country.
Entrepreneurs with export potential have also become aware of Enterprise Europe Network (EEN) programme providing support in the internationalisation of business and technology transfer.
The discussions assessed the areas in which the beneficiaries need training, and after the analysis of the data, the necessary trainings will be initiated.
Information campaigns by entrepreneurs or potential entrepreneurs are organised following the signature of an ODSME-IPA-IFAD trilateral collaboration agreement in 2016. The act entails establishing sustainable collaboration with a view to promoting opportunities for the development of the Moldovan small and medium-sized enterprise sector, including the agri-food sector.
