OECD supports Moldova in implementing the Reform Agenda
The State Chancellery, jointly with the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), organised an inter-institutional workshop between the Republic of Moldova and the OECD.At the workshop, the Concept Note prepared by the OECD on potential areas of cooperation with the Republic of Moldova to support the implementation of the Association Agreement between the Republic of Moldova and the European Union as well as the Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Area (DCFTA) was discussed, such as: public administration reform, justice sector reform, anti-corruption, improving the business climate, SME development, investment policies, trade, taxes, energy efficiency, education.
In this context, representatives of national public authorities informed about ongoing reforms and development priorities.
The workshop was held in three thematic sessions:
SME policy, responsible investment and trade facilitation;
— Multi-dimensional assessment at national level;
Potential areas for future cooperation.
The workshop participants also discussed the initiative of creating the OECD – RM Inter-Ministerial Coordination Council, which will be a platform for institutionalising cooperation between the Government of the Republic of Moldova and the OECD, identify areas of participation of the Republic of Moldova in OECD bodies and committees, in order to benefit from support and assimilate practices of other countries in the region, and monitor the progress of collaboration between the parties.
