ODIMM will work with Regional Development Agencies to develop entrepreneurship in the regions
The Parties exchanged views on the organisation and implementation of joint activities with a view to harnessing regional potential and promoting entrepreneurial support instruments.
ODIMM Director-General Yulia Iabanji mentioned that 2017 will be a very important year for regional entrepreneurship, as ODSME intends to identify the necessary tools and levers to reach every rural locality of the country and support business ideas in the regions. To this end, ODIMM will carry out a comprehensive programme of activities to identify rural entrepreneurial potential and support business development.
In this context, Iulia Iabanji also mentioned the importance of involving local public authorities and RDAs in identifying regional economic priorities in order to ensure the development of rural municipalities.
The representatives of the RDAs were open to collaboration and provided the necessary support for the development of the regions. The Directors of the Agencies mentioned that one of the solutions to develop entrepreneurship is to associate them in different ways – associating producers with the same profile, based on the value chain, or within a region.
The collaboration between ODSMEs and RDAs is to be crystallised in an Action Plan embodying all these proposals. To this end, the parties agreed to put forward proposals tailored to the specific characteristics of the region they represent and, at the next meeting, to be incorporated into the Joint Action Plan.
The signing of the Cooperation Agreements between ODIMM and the 4 Moldovan RDAs (RDA North, RDA South, RDA Centre and RDA Gagauzia) took place on 20 January 2017. Regional Development Agencies (RDA) are non-commercial public institutions with financial autonomy subordinated to the Ministry of Construction and Regional Development, established in 2009 to ensure the operationality of the process of implementation and implementation of the Government Strategy for Regional Development.
