Empowering women and promoting youth entrepreneurship will be supported by Organisation for the Development of Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (ODSME) in the framework of Local Employment Partnerships (LEP) of rayons Căușeni and Cantemir. This initiative is launched by the International Labour Organisation (ILO) and will be implemented over the years 2021-2022 in collaboration with ODIMM, with others 15 partners public and private at national and local level, including civil society organisations, financial, educational and vocational training institutions, employment service, producer associations, businesses and investors.

In the framework of the partnership ILO-ODIMM, 110 young people and women out of 2 districts receive entrepreneurship education through programmes “Start for Young People” and “Women in Business”and 50 people will be able to receive non-reimbursable funding to launch and develop their own businesses. The first 49 young people and women take part in the 1-17 June in business training courses to lay the foundations for their entrepreneurial knowledge.

National programmes “Start for Young People” and “Women in Business” provides for investment projects to be funded up to 80 % – 90 %, but applicants must contribute 20 % or 10 % respectively, making the programmes unattractive for people who do not have the financial resources to start a business. This partnership involves combining co-financing and non-financial support provided as part of national programmes, as well as access to relevant business development training services run by young and male women”supports ODIMM Director-General Iulia Costin.

We would point out that in 2019-2020 ODSME participated in the first local partnership implemented in the Cahul district. As a result of this partnership, 11 businesses initiated by young people and women from the Cahul district were financially supported and 25 young people were trained in entrepreneurship.
