ODIMM supports entrepreneurial skills testing through Moldovan Business Incubators
Entrepreneurs and future entrepreneurs in the districts Calarasi and Soroca they will be able to test innovative business ideas through the Business Accelerator and the Fab Labs respectively. The two entrepreneurial support centres, opened in the framework of the Business incubators in Calarasi and Soroca support potential entrepreneurs and start-ups in planning and implementing a business idea.
Present at the inauguration, manager of the Network of Business Incubators in Moldova (RIAM), Rainbow Romannoted the importance of both host incubators, the Accelerator (Calarasi) and the FabLabs (Soroca) in developing entrepreneurship in the regions. It also reinforced the support provided through the RIAM Support Instrument, funded by the ODIMMthis made it possible to equip these centres. At the same time, the cooperation and support provided by local public authorities and development partners in implementing these initiatives was reiterated.
In this way, these new support tools will stimulate creativity, the development of entrepreneurial skills and education, and willing entrepreneurs in these regions will be able to experience how an idea can become a successful business, drawing on the good practices of incubator residents.
In the future, such initiatives will also be implemented in other Business Incubators, members of the RIAM.
Currently in the eleven Business Incubators, member of RIAMit operates around 253 resident companiesof which 145 are start-ups 132 are run by young people and 122 companies are run by women. Overall created 886 jobsof which 450 for women and 312 for young people.
Moldova’s Business Incubators Network was created in the year 2013 by ODIMM with the support of the European Union. The members of RIAM are Business Incubators: Ștefan-Vodă, Dubăsari, Leova, Ceadâr-Lunga, Rezina, Nisporeni, Sângerei, Soroca, Cimișlia, Cahul and Călărași.
