ODIMM supports educational development projects for children
By the International Copil Day, the International Children’s Development Centre “Leader Land” was opened in Chișinău. This project was supported by the Programme to attract remittances to the economy “PARE 1+ 1”, managed by the Organisation for the Development of Sector of Small and Medium Enterprises (ODIMM), by equipping high-performing educational equipment rooms: SMART Board interactive table, computers and multifunctional printers. The Centre is intended for children aged 2 to 10, who will provide multilateral child development services through English language courses, coreography, music, theatreet, plastic art and logopedi. At the same time, 10 jobs will be created as a result of the implementation of the project.
The fessive ceremony was attended by Deputy Prime Minister, Octavian Calmîc, Minister of Economy, who mentioned that he was surprised by the ingenuity and innovativeness of the business, noting the importance of the educational process in forming children’s thinking and creativity. Octavian Calmâc also spoke of the need to create such institutions in the central centres.
So far, funding of more than lei 170 mln has been granted via PARE 1+ 1, while the total amount of planned investments in the economy will amount to approximately lei 560 mln. The businesses initiated and developed by migrants created around 1,600 new jobs across the country, including 500 for women and 450 for young people under 36.
The “PARE 1+ 1” programme was launched in 2010 with the aim of mobilising human and financial resources of Moldovan emigrants in the sustainable economic development of the Republic of Moldova by stimulating the establishment and development of small and medium-sized enterprises by migrant workers and recipients of remittances. The programme operates under the “1+ 1” rule, so that each leu in remittances will be complemented by a leu in the form of a grant under the Programme. Grant beneficiaries can be emigrant workers, Moldovan citizens and recipients of remittances, grade I relatives.
