ODIMM announces launch of new Youth Project – Jobs for YOUTH
The event brought together representatives of the Delegation of the European Union to the Republic of Moldova, central public authorities, partner organisations, business people as well as young potential entrepreneurs.
Iulia COSTIN, State Secretary General of the Ministry of Economy and Infrastructure, stressed that young people are a driving force of a country’s economy and supporting them in starting and developing business is a priority of the Government of the Republic of Moldova and the Ministry of Economy and Infrastructure. “I congratulate the ODIMM team on launching a cross-border project to provide a unique opportunity for young people from the Republic of Moldova and Ukraine to exchange experiences, create partnerships and receive training and assistance in setting up innovative businesses,” said Iulia Costin.

Fabien SCHAEFFER, representative of the Delegation of the European Union in Chisinau, mentioned that both the Republic of Moldova and Ukraine are facing a number of similar economic and social problems. “The best solution is to create a future for young people in the country, because without young people there is no country and there is no future,” he reiterated.
Cătălina Arghir, representative of the German Cooperation Agency (GIZ Moldova) mentioned that: “Jobs for YOUTH is a cross-border project that will facilitate cooperation between young people and support organisations from Ukraine and Moldova, because only through cooperation can we succeed and achieve beautiful results”.
Petru GURGUROV, Acting Director-General of ODIMM, highlighted the role and mission of the organisation in supporting entrepreneurs in the Republic of Moldova, including young ones, through a number of support programmes. “We are happy to give young people a new chance, the project “Joint business opportunities for young people”. It is a project created on the basis of a successful experience, under the Romania-Moldova-Ukraine cross-border programme, through which we managed to connect young people from the Republic of Moldova with those from Romania,” said Petru GURGUROV.Vladimir PAVEL, Director of the Administrative Council of the Youth Organisation “New European Generation” in Ismail, Ukraine, mentioned that his institution is implementing projects dedicated to young people in various fields of activity: sport, culture and business: “We want to give young people as many opportunities as possible and encourage them to benefit from this project”.
The programme aims to support 60 young people aged 18-35 from the Republic of Moldova and Ukraine (Chernivtsi, Odesa and Vinnitsa) in setting up innovative businesses with a strong social and economic cross-border impact.

“The project has ambitious objectives, training young people from both countries, encouraging their participation in Seed forums, and setting up an online assistance and consultation platform on writing a business plan,” said Oxana Paladiciuc, programme manager.
Support organisations and young entrepreneurs from similar projects participated in the event and shared their experience.The project is funded by the European Union under the Moldova – Ukraine Cross Border Cooperation Programme and implemented by the Organisation for the Development of Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (ODIMM) in partnership with the “New Generation Europe” Public Youth Organisation of Ukraine.
