ODA provides new grants for women’s business development
52 women-led start-ups, out of 22 raios of the Republic, will receive non-repayable funding up to RON 165 thousand from the State to initiate and develop a business. Today, the beneficiaries of the latest Work Women Programme Project Call have signed grant contracts with the Organisation for the Development of Entrepreneurship. (ODA). The total amount of grants constitutes 6,86 lei mill.this will boost investment in the domestic economy of around Lei 9.69 million and help create or maintain 261 jobs. Investment projects were submitted online 153 applications by women-led companies throughout the territory of the Republic of Moldova.

63 % of the total number of investment projects are in the field of service delivery (photographic and cinematographic services; engineering consultancy services, old-age asylum, educational activities, health services and social work; business and management consulting services; hotel and accommodation services, recreational activities, tourist services, teaching services)other 20 percent will operate in the manufacturing sector (processing of fruit and vegetables; manufacture of clothing and accessories; food industry/manufacture of bakery products)and 17 percent they are from agriculture and zootechnics (increasing vegetables; beekeeping; cultivation of aromatic plants, bird farm).
At the same time, some of the companies selected for funding will develop innovative businesses: production of green bridges in cotton and spunbond; provision of media advertising and representation services; artistic creation activities – olive; book publishing activities; kinetoterapie, fizioterapie and massj; increasing empty trees.
The Women in Business Programme was implemented by ODA in 2016-2022. Through the Programme have been trained over 1200 women in the entrepreneurial field and guided in the development of investment projects, and 762 investment projects have been financed cumulative amount of Lei 113.95 million. The Ministry of Economy jointly with ODA is currently examining the possibility to come with an improved version of the Programme.
