July 6, 2026, Chișinău – The Organization for Entrepreneurship Development (ODA), in collaboration with the Ministry of Economic Development and Digitalization, continues to support the development of the entrepreneurial sector through its grant financing programs. The results recorded in the second quarter confirm the growing interest of businesses in investing and modernizing their operations.
During the period of April–June 2026, ODA disbursed grants totaling MDL 67.85 million to 275 beneficiary companies. Cumulatively, since the beginning of the year, the total value of grants transferred has reached MDL 91.38 million, supporting 383 enterprises.
At the same time, in the second quarter, 165 investment projects were approved for financing, with a total grant value of MDL 86.9 million. These projects are expected to generate investments estimated at MDL 172.5 million, contributing to business development and enhancing the competitiveness of the national economy.
The companies that have received non-reimbursable financial support currently provide nearly 1,300 jobs, while the implementation of the approved investment projects is expected to create approximately 800 additional jobs, strengthening the labor market and stimulating local economic development.
An analysis of the funded sectors shows that the manufacturing industry continues to attract the largest share of investments, accounting for approximately 33% of the total. It is followed by the agricultural sector with around 18%, and the information and communications technology (ICT) sector with approximately 15%. The remaining funding is distributed across sectors such as accommodation and food service activities, education, recreation and leisure, energy production and supply, transport and storage, healthcare and social assistance, as well as other service activities.
The projects supported through ODA-managed grant programs primarily focus on modernizing and streamlining production processes, implementing energy efficiency solutions, digitalizing businesses, developing innovative products and services, as well as supporting the establishment and expansion of enterprises.
Overall, during the first six months of 2026, a total of 246 investment projects were approved for financing through ODA's non-reimbursable financial support instruments, with approved grants amounting to MDL 129.9 million. These investments are expected to generate more than MDL 268.9 million for the national economy.
Companies supported through these financial instruments currently sustain 2,720 jobs, while an additional 1,280 jobs are expected to be created through the implementation of the approved investment projects.
"The continued interest shown by entrepreneurs in grant programs confirms the need for support instruments that encourage investment and business development. Through the programs managed by ODA, we aim to make a direct contribution to enhancing the competitiveness of the economy and creating new jobs," said Vadim Indoitu, Deputy Director of ODA.
The grants are financed from the state budget, with the support of the European Union through the Reform Agenda for the Republic of Moldova, the World Bank Group through the Organization for Entrepreneurship Development (ODA) and the Competitiveness Enhancement Project Implementation Unit (CEPIU), as well as through the Strong Businesses and Communities for Moldova (SBC) Project – Increasing the Energy Resilience of SMEs in the Republic of Moldova component, implemented by ODA and GIZ with funding from the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and the Government of Switzerland.
