Launch of the project “Women Entrepreneurship – an engine for job creation in Southern Eastern Europe”.
Today, 2 November 2012 saw the launch event of the Regional Project:
“Female Entrepreneurship:
an engine for job creation in Southern Eastern Europe”.
The overall aim of the project is to promote female entrepreneurship in Southern Eastern Europe through better practices, combined with public and private sector efforts to create networks and associations of women entrepreneurs at national and international level.
The objective of the programme is to:
- Initiating/strengthening the framework for supporting female entrepreneurship policies in beneficiary countries: Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Cosovo, Macedonia, Montenegro, Moldova, Serbia, Türkiye based on best practices.
- Strengthen networks/associations of women entrepreneurs between beneficiary countries in order to support women entrepreneurs and better represent their interests.
- The target group of the project is:
- Civil servants;
- Politicians;
- Members of Parliament;
- Networks and associations of women entrepreneurs in the EEA region;
- Civil society;
- Rights organisations;
- Chambers of commerce.
Main project activities:
Organisation of regional events (seminars, conferences, etc.);
— A study of women entrepreneurs carried out by Bosnia, Macedonia and Herzegovina;
— The creation of national networks of women entrepreneurs;
Training of women entrepreneurs;
Training of trainers;
Organisation of the Young Women Entrepreneurs in Southern Eastern Europe.
— Etc.
Representations of the public and private sectors, women’s associations and international projects participated in the event.
Ms Iulia IABANJI – Director-General ODIMM mentioned “We want us to be heard and associate to create the feminine partnership”. She also welcomed the formal opening of the project, stressing that it was an ideal opportunity to involve and promote women entrepreneurs from Moldova.
This project will be carried out in 9 countries of South East Europe, including the Republic of Moldova for a period of 3 years (2012-2015).
