New investment projects approved for financing
45 new investment projects submitted by domestic entrepreneurs were approved for financing by the Organisation for Entrepreneurship Development (ODA). The projects aim to invest in the modernisation, greening, digitalisation or internationalisation of businesses. The government’s financial support ranges between RON 250 thousand and lei 2 million, the resources granted from the state budget or the resources allocated by the European Union and the World Bank.
The Ministry of Economic Development and Digitalisation, through ODA, will continue to support entrepreneurs through various instruments, including grants, low interest rate loans or financial guarantees.
Dumitru Pintea, the Director of ODA informed entrepreneurs with the latest governmental and European initiatives to support access to finance, urging them to apply also other business support instruments to become competitive on the market.
‘ODA shall implement a wide range of entrepreneurial support programmes to support entrepreneurs at all stages of business development, facilitate access to credit from banks with low interest rates through the Credit Guarantee Fund, and provide financial guarantees through the Credit Guarantee Fund. It shall also support the development of business support infrastructure in the regions through business incubators and multifunctional Industrial Platforms.’
Of the total number of new beneficiaries, 24 are active in rural areas and 21 operate in urban areas. Of these, 7 businesses are managed by young people and 20 women. Economic operators will access non-repayable financing through the State Programmes – PARE 1+ 2 Retrends programme, Digital Transformation, SME Greening, Programme to increase export competitiveness and internationalisation of AIMM and repowering and Energy Efficiency. The total grant amounts to approximately lei 22 million.
The investments to be made will be targeted for the purchase of performing equipment and machinery, alternative power recovery facilities, accumulation basin, water treatment station, market research services, stand design services and promotional material for participation in international exhibitions, software for the digitalisation of the production process, business promotion services, certification services, consultancy in the preparation of the export and sales team, etc.
Among the entrepreneurs participating in the guidance and information session was Grigore Diaconu, the administrator of a wine business in Tigheci, Leova raion. This will access a non-repayable financial support of about lei 600 thousand through the Export Competitiveness Co-financing Facility implemented with the support of the World Bank.
“We have a family business that has been active on the market for more than 20 years. We are producing 26 types of wines, which are recognised in many countries on the European continent. Of the grant that we will access to us, we aim to purchase the necessary equipment to launch a new spumant product and design design. We will also record at national and international level intellectual property rights in the FAUTOR and VIS DE VIA marks”.
Another entrepreneur who will access non-repayable funding through the Digital Transformation Programme is Alexandr Maimescu in Chișinău, managing a catering business.
‘Our company’s products are distributed, in particular, in gardens, schools, hospitals, with flexibility to prescribe special buccas after certain dietes. With the ODA grant we aim to optimise the process of taking orders and managing accounts, to create a website for placing orders online, thus reducing their time and costs’, supports business.
