New impetus to business development through ODA-managed programmes

The administrators of 56 companies have signed financing contracts with the Organisation for the Development of Entrepreneurship (ODA) to receive grants from the Government of the Republic of Moldova and the European Union. Grants totalled lei 13.4 million, while the total value of investment in the economy exceeds lei 25.6 million.
Economic agents accessed grants with a view to equipping companies with well-performing equipment, the recovery facilities for alternative energy sources, as well as in the digitalisation of the work process. The grants are obtained through the Start Programme for Young, the PAR 1+ 2 Programme for attracting remittances to the economy, as well as the Digital Transformation Programme of SMEs.
Dumitru Alaiba, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Economic Development and Digitalisation of the Republic of Moldova spoke about the government’s commitment to support the national economy through a number of strategic initiatives. The Minister also stressed the importance of supporting young entrepreneurs, who are the engine of innovation and economic development, and stressed the importance of supporting diaspora in business start-up and development.
‘Today, we are still helping 56 companies to expand their business, scale up and improve their capacities to produce more and faster. Our main objectives are to simplify red tape, digitalise, support entrepreneurs, especially those in small and medium-sized enterprises, by providing finance and new retail markets. We want to have a growing economy and so we need your business to grow and grow. We have a common interest and we are in this process," said Minister for Economic Development and Digitalisation Dumitru Alaiba.
Vadim Codreanu, Director of the Organisation for the Development of Entrepreneurship, mentioned in his speech the importance of grants in the development of the economy and the pro-active attitude of entrepreneurs in business development.
‘I encourage entrepreneurs to be open to innovation and to explore new possibilities for funding and collaboration to enable them to achieve their objectives. In addition to the grants obtained, business people must be willing to learn continuously and adapt to new trends. Participation in courses, conferences and networking events organised by the Organisation for the Development of Entrepreneurship can also be an excellent way to know the latest developments and acquire new skills”, said Vadim Codreanu.
At the same time, company managers were informed about the contractual details and how to interact between ODA and beneficiaries to ensure an efficient and productive relationship in project implementation.
Sârbu Tudor, from Tîrnova, Dondușeni raion, is the manager of the company “Rom-Cris SRL” and accessed a grant of lei 500000 via the SME Digital Transformation Programme. The entrepreneur opted for the endowment of modern machinery for birds growth hales.
‘With this financial support, we intend to purchase equipment that makes our work more efficient by having a digital system for monitoring and managing the hall. We are concerned to adapt us to the requirements and rules of the European Union in order to be able to export to this market as well“, it said the entrepreneur.
We would point out that since the beginning of the year, the Organisation for the Development of Entrepreneurship (ODA) has registered a total of 193 companies that received grants through various entrepreneurial support programmes.
These account for a total of lei 90 million, of which approximately lei 80 million are from the government budget.
The programmes are financed by the Government of the Republic of Moldova and the European Union through ODA.
