The Minister of Economy and Infrastructure, Sergiu Railean, together with the Director-General of ODIMM, Iulia Costin, started fact-finding visits to the territory on the implementation of the pilot programme for the creation of Multifunctional Industrial Platforms. The Anenii Noi and Basarabeasca districts, two of the 16 districts where Multifunctional Industrial Platforms will be developed, were visited. During the visit, the profiles of the two regions were discussed with representatives of the local public administration (APL) in order to identify the specificities of the MIPs’ field of activity.
The Minister enquired about the progress of the works to create the utility infrastructure, the construction and layout of the telecommunication networks, the electricity supply systems, the gas, water and sewage supply network, the transport routes, as well as the administrative and legal conditions.
“I am sure that this project will have a major impact on the creation and development of small and medium-sized enterprises, including the development of the district economy. It is important to continue developing business infrastructure in the regions to help companies grow at home, but also to create as many jobs as possible. With the necessary infrastructure and utilities, we can attract important investments to the region, "said Sergiu Railean.
Iulia Costin, Director-General of ODIMM reiterated the importance of developing MIPs in the regions to increase competitiveness, productivity, industrial employment.
“Multifunctional industrial platforms are beginning to take shape. The specificity and scope of each MIP will be plotted according to the potential of the district and the process will be carried out in several steps. The actions to set up the platforms will be carried out at the same time, others consecutively, but also in cooperation with several key national, regional and local actors, "said Iulia Costin.
The multifunctional industrial platform in Anenii Noi will be located outside the Anenii Noi city outlet. The land identified for the creation of the MIP has an area of 5.22 ha and a favourable positioning with connection to road M5 – R3 Chisinau – Tiraspol. As regards the second multifunctional industrial platform, the identified land is located in the city of Basarabeasca and covers an area of 9.7 ha.
Please note that the pilot programme for the creation of the 16 Multifunctional Industrial Platforms is prepared by the Ministry of Economy and Infrastructure. The platforms are to be created in districts with a lower industrialisation level, where there are no Industrial Parks or Free Economic Zone. Today most industrial production is concentrated in the municipality of Chișinău – 54 % and Bălți – 12 %.
