More than 150 women entrepreneurs registered for the Small Grants Competition
154 women entrepreneurs from the Republic of Moldova submitted investment projects to the Fifth Small Grants Competition under the Women in Business Programme. The files were received online by the Organisation for the Development of Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (ODIMM) between 11 March and 11 April 2020.
The winners of the Fifth Competition will be able to receive a non-reimbursable grant of up to RON 165, which will be offered to women managing a business from 0 to 24 months. Financial support may be used for the purchase of machinery, equipment and development services.
“I support and admire the courage, enthusiasm and perseverance of women entrepreneurs in our country. During this complicated period, we are focusing in particular on investment projects that contribute to the economic development of communities. We will continue to motivate women’s potential in entrepreneurship and management so that every business idea can be realised and jobs and salaries created and maintained”, says Minister Sergiu Railean.
According to the Director General of ODIMM, Iulia Costin, in the coming period, his organisation will launch a new Small Grants Competition to give all female entrepreneurs who failed to submit their applications in a timely manner.
So far, 379 women’s businesses across the Republic of Moldova have been selected and funded through the Women in Business Programme. The amount of grants approved is approximately RON 52 million, which will trigger investments in the economy of approximately RON 90 million. The business of female entrepreneurs created and maintained more than 1500 jobs.
