Moldovan entrepreneurs supported with grants to access foreign markets
20 entrepreneursbusinesses selected for funding under the Programme to increase the competitiveness of SMEs and their internationalisationsigned grant contracts with the Entrepreneurship Development Organisation (ODA) today.
Of these, 9 economic operators will receive grants until RON 2 million. The total investment amount resulting from the implementation of the investment projects will constitute approximately RON 31 million, of which the amount of the grant is around RON 14 million. Most companies aim to expand their market both in Romania and in other EU countries, such as: Germany, Italy, Poland, France, Bulgaria, Portugal and Ireland. At the same time, some companies will develop their capacities for the UK and US markets.
A further 11 companies will access Business Vouchere up to RON 100 thousand for the development of export capacities through the implementation of ISO 9001 standards, the development of marketing strategies, the creation of visibility components and the introduction of other elements facilitating the presence on external markets.
Dumitru Pîntea, Director of ODA intermar, presented at the contract signature event the latest changes made by the Government to improve this support mechanism.
‘Through the Programme, SMEs can obtain support for the training of entrepreneurial skills by accessing a Business Voucher of up to RON 100 thousand for the purchase of business development services. The procedure for accessing advisory services has been simplified. At the same time, economic operators may receive non-repayable financial support of up to RON 2 million in order to increase their competitiveness, productivity and expansion on other markets, and may submit additional applications up to the maximum grant ceiling.’Dumitru Pîntea said.
Through the Programme for enhancing the competitiveness of SMEs and their internationalisation, small and medium-sized enterprises in the Republic of Moldova can access non-repayable financial support of up to RON 2 million for strengthening capacities to promote products and services on external markets. The programme supports both the purchase of business development services and the procurement of equipment, machinery and plant; registration and exploitation of intellectual property rights, acquisition of intellectual property; procuring franchises, licences, software, raw materials and materials necessary for the production process.
The financial support has been accessible to undertakings that have been active on the market for at least 2 years and are showing an upward trend.
In 2022, the Programme approved grants for 55 companies with allocation from the state budget of RON 44 million. The total value of the investments is around 95 million.
Applications will be able to be submitted online by filling in the form that will be accessible on the institution’s website from next week. The call will be open on a rolling basis.
