Lei 1 billion in the country’s economy via “ARE 1+ 1”
Migrants invested Lei 1 billion in the Republic of Moldova’s economy through business under the Programme of Drawing of Assignment to Economy “PARE 1+ 1”, implemented by the Organisation for Sector Development of Small and Medium Enterprises (ODIMM).
So far, 2410 entrepreneurs have been trained through the “PARE 1+ 1” programme and 1623 enterprises managed by migrants or their relatives of grade 1 have received grants and around 4 thousand jobs have been opened.
The totals were made upon the approval of the first 53 investment projects this year, the beneficiaries who signed, today, 27 February grant contracts with the IMMO.
Present at the event, IULIANA Drăgălin, State Secretary at the Ministry of Economy and Infrastructure, gave assurances that the Government will continue to support all entrepreneurial support initiatives aimed at adding value to the national economy. The “PARE 1+ 1” programme enjoys increased interest among migrants and their relatives, leading to a steady increase in the number of people interested in returning to home or investing remittances in the creation and development of their business. This programme directly contributes to the country’s economic development, investment by migrants has reached Lei 1 billionand the most significant effect is the reduction of migration, providing favourable conditions for the start-up and development of a business, especially in rural areas’stressed IULIA IN Christages.
Iulia Costin, Director General ODIMM highlighted the fact that this programme has a considerable economic and social impact in the regions. Through the Programme “PARE 1+ 1” more young people and women have turned their passion into a business, creating innovative activities with modern technologies in rural areas. New services have been developed that help improve regional infrastructure and change people’s mindset. Our green fruit and vegetable beneficiaries produce successful goods on external markets. Agricultural business is expanded by the creation of agro-pensions”said Iulia Costin.
The European Union financially supports the “PARE 1+ 1” government programme, out of these 53 approved investment projects, 25 businesses are financed by EU funds. Boris Filipov, Project Manager in the EU Delegation in the Republic of Moldova reiterated the importance of EU support for business development in rural areas. “Moldovenian SMEs can play a much greater role in the national economy. Offering today’s grants will help new business ideas to materialise and contribute to the well-being of Moldovan citizens by investing Moldovan revenues back to the country”.
Out of the 53 companies accepted for non-repayable loans, 33 are in the expansion phase, while 20 businesses are start-ups. This will help create and maintain around 180 jobsof which 58 – for women and 78 – for young people. Business is located in 22 races of the Republics and 44 companies operate in rural areas, and 9 in mun. Chisinau. The total amount of grants for these 53 investment projects is Lei 12.93 millionthis will help attract around 35.49 million lei investment.
Most companies, 25 to the number active in the field agriculture (cultivation of cereals, increase in vegetables, processing of vine plantings, nulls, parking and meals, beekeeping and chinchies growth), 16 business – in the field provision of services (recreation and agro fish services, catering services, event organisation, cosmetology and corporate care, terasive work, repairs and washing of motorcars), and 12 companies operate in manufacturing (manufacture of clothing, PVC items, metal, fortanium, pallets and lighters, furniture, production of cheese, tea, sheep, oatry and feed products).
According to the data, the 53 beneficiaries are investing remittances from 16 countries: Italy, Russia, the United Kingdom, Germany, Ireland, Israel, Romania, the Netherlands, Portugal, the USA, Canada, France, Spain, Türkiye, Denmark and Ukraine.
The “PARE 1+ 1” programme has been implemented by the IMMOs since 2010 and aims to mobilise the human and financial resources of Moldovan workers abroad in the sustainable economic development of the Republic of Moldova. The programme is financed from the State budget, cleared from European Union funds, and has been extended to 2021. The programme works on the basis of the “1+ 1” algorithm, so each leu invested in remittances is matched by a leu in the form of a grant. The grant amount is up to RON 250000.
