KfW and ODA, in dialogue with the beneficiaries of the FACEM Impact funding product, developed with the support of the German Government
28 May 2026, Chisinau — Recently, the delegation of the German Development Bank (KfW) held a progress meeting in the framework of the project “SME Development Facility in the Republic of Moldova”, financed by the German government through KfW.
In the framework of the meeting, meetings were held with the team of the Organisation for Entrepreneurship Development (ODA), as the Project Implementation Agency, as well as with the experts of Frankfurt School of Finance & Management, which provides project implementation advice.
In the discussions, ODA representatives presented the progress of the refinancing mechanism developed and launched on the market through the financing product “FACEM Impact”. It is part of the ‘SME Development Facility in Moldova’ project, implemented with the financial support of the German Government, through the German Development Bank (KfW). For the implementation of the project, the German government provided a grant of EUR 10.7 million.
The ‘FACEM Impact’ financing product is intended to support small and medium-sized enterprises in the Republic of Moldova by facilitating access to investment-friendly financing.
The agenda of the visit also included a field trip to one of the beneficiaries of the ‘FACEM Impact’ funding product. The visit took place at GRAND LIFT S.R.L. in Chisinau, a company with almost 30 years of experience, led by entrepreneur Victor Hîrjău.
Through the financing product ‘FACEM Impact’, the company accessed an advantageous investment loan of RON 5 million, with a repayment period of 10 years, aimed at purchasing a modern space for the production of metal items.
Thanks to preferential financing, the company will be able to eliminate rental costs, expand its stocks, develop the assembly of lifts and create new jobs.
The financing was accessed through the partner bank Moldindconbank.
Entrepreneurs can access the financing product ‘FACEM Impact’ for investments, benefiting from loans of up to RON 5 million, with a fixed interest rate starting at 4 % and a repayment period of up to 10 years, negotiated with the partner bank. Beneficiaries may also negotiate a grace period for the repayment of the investment loan and benefit from a VAT exemption, with the right to deduct for goods and services paid from the loan account.
