Japan, willing to provide support to the SME sector in the Republic of Moldova
The nipon official is in a documentation visit to Moldova to discuss with national public authorities and institutions of interest to the nipon part of future projects/initiatives bilaterally.
Iulia Costin, Secretary General of the Ministry of Economy and Infrastructure, appreciated the long-standing collaboration between the Republic of Moldova and Japan. “There are several areas of collaboration which are of interest to the Ministry of Economy and Infrastructure and which can be harnessed, one of these priorities aims at strengthening the export capacities of the SME sector”, mentioned Iulia Costin.
In the interview, Petru Gurgurov, acting Director-General highlighted the results of two major projects for the development of consultancy services, implemented by the ODIMM, with technical assistance from the Japanese Agency for International Cooperation (JICA).
“ODIMM in partnership with JICA launched the first Centre of Consultation and Assistance in Business (CC & AA) in the Republic of Moldova. We aim to expand advisory services to the regions through the 11 business incubators in the country," highlighted Petru Gurgurov.
In the context, Yoko Takebayashi reiterated JICA’s support to identify all opportunities for technical cooperation and adaptation of the legal framework in the field of entrepreneurship, thus enabling our business sector to develop more dynamically. The Parties also set priorities for future areas of collaboration with a view to improving the entrepreneurial environment in the Republic of Moldova.
The JICA JICA International Cooperation Agency was founded in 1974 and is an implementing institution for technical assistance, geared towards developing institutional capacities, forging businesses and developing human resources to help developing countries initiate sustainable economic and social development.
