92 women-led start-upsfrom 24 districts of the Republic, they will receive grants from the State for starting and developing a business. The allocation of grants of up to RON 165 per business was approved today, 30 December by Programme Supervisory Committee “Women in Business”managed by the Organisation for the Development of Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (ODIMM). Total amount of grants will constitute RON 11.46 millionthis will stimulate investments in the national economy of approximately RON 16.5 million and will contribute to creation or maintenance of 285 jobs. To the 8th Investment Project Call have been submitted in online format 277 applications of women-led companies from the entire territory of the Republic of Moldova.

59 per cent of the businesses selected for funding will operate in the countryside, and for 6 companies the own contribution of 10 % will be covered by International Labour Organisation, within the framework of the Cantemir and Căușeni Local Trade Partnership.

About half of the investment projects approved today are from scope of the provision of services (photographic and cinematographic services; education services; accounting and consultancy; sports education; television programme production and broadcasting activities; maintenance and repair of motor vehicles; health and social work services; health care in an artificial saline; etc.), other 33 per cent will carry out their manufacturing (manufacture of furniture, wooden toys; processing of fruit and vegetables; manufacture of wearing apparel and accessories; food industry/manufacturing of bakery products, pasta and spices; construction of roofs and drainage systems; manufacture of metal structures and parts of metal structures; etc.), and 16 per cent I am from agriculture and Livestock (growing of vegetables under glass; beekeeping; cultivation of aromatic, medicinal plants; pig farm).

At the same time, some of the companies selected for funding will develop innovative businesses: recycling of used objects; manufacture of medical dental devices, appliances and instruments (prostheses, dental cords, etc.); production of juices from cereal plants (on pre-packed frozen wheat grass juice); the cultivation of spices, herbs (saffron cultivation); preservation of fruit and vegetables (cryogenic); the supply of specialised teaching services in the soroban and arithmetic mental courses.

Programme “Women in Business”managed by ODIMMsupports women in gaining managerial skills through business development, provides access to personal development, advice from professional mentors and grants of up to RON 165, which can be used to purchase investment items and business development services.

The Entrepreneurship Support Facility is intended for women planning to start or expand their business, especially in villages, and also provides for the possibility of accessing a grant of up to RON 1 649 000 for growing export-oriented companies.

So far, through the Programme, 1100 women have been trained in entrepreneurship and guides in the design of investment projects, and 618 investment projects have been financed in a cumulative amount of RON 95.63 million, which have made investments in the economy of approximately RON 150 million and facilitated the creation or maintenance of more than 2 thousand jobs. The programme is financed from the state budget and is offset by European Union funds.
