First training under the Black Sea BI-NET project was organised in Moldova
Partners of the project “Black Sea BI-NET) project in Türkiye, Greece, Romania, Armenia, Ukraine and the Republic of Moldova met in Chișinău on 14-17 April at a conference to exchange experience and best practices. The process of establishing the international network of business incubators in the Black Sea basin was discussed, which will encourage technology transfer and support business incubators in the internationalisation process.
The conference was attended by representatives of the Delegation of the European Union to the Republic of Moldova, partners, business support organisations, managers of Member incubators of the Moldovan Business Incubators.
At the beginning of the event, Dna Iulia Iabanji Director General ODIMM welcomed the presence of all partners of the “Regional Business incubators” project and reiterated its importance in the process of developing national and international business incubators through the exchange of best practices. MS Lilia Palii, the Director General for the Development of the Business Environment of the Ministry of Economy welcomed the establishment of the Black Sea BI-NET network and noted that it was in line with the current policies and strategies to support the activities of small and medium-sized enterprises and their orientation towards internationalisation.
The conference started with the presentation of the Business Incubators’ mapping report of the countries participating in the project, potential beneficiaries of the Black Sea BI-NET Regional Network and common development opportunities. In this context, the Business Incubators Network of the Republic of Moldova and its members was presented. Philip SANTENS, the EU Technical Assistance Project Manager “Technical assistance for the Sectoral Budget Support – Economic Simulation in Rural Areas (ESRA)” presented the European perspective on the role of international cooperation and networking in the development of the small and medium-sized enterprise sector.
On the second day of training, Mrs Lucia Ușurelu, Vice-Director of the Entranse 2 Your Business project, shared the experience of the training of the Soroca Business Incubator created with the support of the Government of Norway and how residents of the business incubator are supported by training, advice and incentivised to create innovative projects and businesses. A particular interest has been taught by the PARE 1+ 1 Screening Programme, presented by the Cerbow Viorica, Vice-Director ODIMM. About tools to support small entrepreneurs in Greece, participants in training found in Mr Evangelos Angelopoulos, an entrepreneur and representative of the Youth Promotion Centre for Entrepreneurship and Technology. Subsequently, those present attended a brainstormig session on ways to promote the Black Sea BI-NET network.
The training session held in Chișinău on 14-16 April also included a study visit to the Soroca Business Incubator. The “Black Sea BI-Net” project programme foresees a number of activities such as the creation of the Black Sea BI-Net incubators network, the exchange of experience and best practices between business incubators in the Black Sea region, and support for the internationalisation of incubated SMEs.
We recall that Black Sea BI-Net aims to accelerate the development of a productive and competitive economy in the Black Sea Basin region. The project is financed through the European Neighbourhood and Partnership Instrument (ENPI) and the Instrument for Pre-Accession Assistance (IPA) under the Black Sea Cross-Border Cooperation Programme 2007-2013. The project has a budget of EUR 800 thousand and an implementation period of 24 months.
