Women entrepreneurs met a tea cup with Valeriu LAZĂR, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Economy
On 17 December, 50 businesswomen met at the headquarters of the Organisation for the Development of Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (ODIMM) during the event “Women entrepreneurs at a tea cache with Valeriu LAZĂR, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Economy”. The event was also attended by Ms Jolanta CHELMINSKA, Voievod de Lodz, Poland, who is on an official visit to the Republic of Moldova.
The aim of the event was to create an effective communication platform that will help women promote their products and services, inspire and support each other.
“We want to create a community of businesswomen in the Republic of Moldova that will showcase its role in today’s society, encourage businesswomen to develop their careers and provide them with the necessary opportunities for professional development”mentioned Ms Iulia Iabanji, Director General ODIMM.
In his welcome speech Mr Valeriu Lazăr said that ‘The Small and Medium-sized Enterprises sector has
female face. This is even the case at the level of business support institutions such as ODIMM or MIEPO.”
Ms Jolanta CHELMINSKA, Voievod de Lodz, Poland welcomed the presence of business women and invited them to visit business women in Poland to exchange experiences and good practices.
“Before I came to Chisinau, I met the Polish Women’s Association, which is ready to cooperate. Invite you to see how businesses are doing in Poland and are also ready to come to the Republic of Moldova ", mentioned Ms Jolanta CHELMINSKA.
Women entrepreneurs mention that it is not easy for them to do business in Moldova, but they have become accustomed and adapted to the harsh conditions. “It is not easy for women to do business in Moldova, but we have already become accustomed to the crisis, and with the help of intelligence and rumours, we sometimes get what men cannot get,” said the designer Nata Efteni.
“By helping women entrepreneurs, we solve not only economic but also social problems, as this creates the conditions for them to stay in the country. That is why we will do our utmost to increase the number of women entrepreneurs. It is particularly important to support women in rural areas”he mentioned the Minister of Economy Valeriu Lazăr.
After discussions focused on identifying problems and solutions faced by businesswomen, they witnessed a make-up lesson from the Angela Șargu Salon and a presentation of products from the designer Nata Efteni.
The event was attended by women entrepreneurs in the field of tourism services, accounting, light industry, food industry, beneficiaries of the ODIMM programmes.
At the end of the event, businesswomen promised to meet more often in order to
get to know each other better, discuss the problems they face in detail, and find and propose solutions together.
