Reviewing the ‘PARE 1 + 1’ programme for the discharge of remittances in the economy, since 2010 the Deputy Prime Minister, Octavian Calmîc, Minister for the Economy, has noted that throughout its years of existence it has a growing interest among migrants and their relatives, as demonstrated by the steady increase in the number of people interested in returning home and investing remittances in the creation and development of their own business. ‘To date, through the ‘PARE 1 + 1’ programme, access to non-repayable financing has been facilitated for 900 companies, amounting to RON 158.77 million, with the total amount of planned investment in the economy amounting to over RON 524 million’, emphasised the Minister for the Economy.
Octavian Calmîc specified that the authorities will continue to support migrants who intend to invest remittances in the national economy, as in many cases they are the entrepreneurs who initiate and develop new business ideas in the domestic market. “For example, the “PARE 1 + 1” enterprises were among the first to develop businesses in the field of biomass, raising of chinchillas, cultivating armour, paulowna, etc. Moreover, the beneficiaries of the Programme were oriented towards activities that add more value to agricultural products by creating greenhouses, refrigerators, mills, snail farms, agro-tourism, etc.”, pointed out Deputy Prime Minister Calmîc.
