Romanian National Competition “SME – SOCIAL RESPONSABILITY MODEL” and awarded a prize to CîȘTIGĂTORII
The Annual National Competition “SME – Social Responsibility Model” organised by the Global Compact Network Moldova in collaboration with the Organisation for Small and Medium-sized Enterprises Sector Development (ODSME) took place at 14.00 on 16 October at the International Conference of Small and Medium-sized Enterprises “SME Sector → Moldova 2020”.
This year, the Award Ceremony was held in the third edition of the annual National Competition “SME – Social Responsibility Model” and aims to stimulate companies to engage voluntarily in social and environmental activities.
The competition was organised between September and October and is open to micro, small and medium-sized enterprises, which in 2012, on a voluntary basis, recorded social and environmental concerns in their business activities.
competing Small and Medium-sized Enterprises were evaluated according to the Application Form submitted to the Evaluation Committee composed of the members of the Global Compact Moldova Network.
the following companies were awarded the prize by the Global Moldova Pact Network members:
environmental protection – StudautoNord SRL, Sângerei district;
compliance with the working conditions of employees – Jenim Produc & Com SRL, Cahul district;
social integration and community support – Lilia Donnici II, Dondușeni district;
The Special Prize was awarded to OLDINCOM – PLUS SRL in Călărași District, which has carried out important actions in several of the areas mentioned above.
The prizes for the winners were offered by the members of the Global Moldova Pact Network, namely: Orange Moldova SA and BC Moldova-Agroindbank SA.
Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) aims at companies integrating, on a voluntary basis, social and environmental concerns into their business activities and in their interaction with different groups relevant to business. The CSR is generally characterised by the following aspects: responsible entrepreneurship; voluntary initiatives going beyond legislative requirements and contractual obligations; activities for the benefit of employees, groups relevant to the business (including the company as a whole) or the environment; positive contribution in terms of target groups targeted and minimisation of negative impacts for others (including the environment); regular activities rather than one-off events.
The Global Moldova Pact Network is an employers’ organisation launched on 28 November 2006. The network consists of a number of national and multinational companies operating on the teritotic side of the Republic of Moldova. These companies have adhered to the universal principles of protecting human rights, labour standards and the environment by ensuring respect for and promotion of social responsibility within the community.
