On 29 November, the Regional Economic Forum “Competitiveness through partnerships”, 4th edition, took place in Ungheni, attended by over 100 people, representatives of local, national and international public authorities, the associative and private environment.

The Forum was organised by the Euroregion Siret – Prut – Nistru in partnership with the Central Development Agency, the Ungheni Raional Council and the Ungheni Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

The Forum’s agenda included presentations and discussions on strengthening regional dialogue for increased competitiveness, instruments for effective partnership and cooperation, opportunities and successful examples of attracting investment to the region. The presentations, which were consistent with the information provided, were made by representatives of ODIMM, the Siret-Prut-Nistru Euroregion Association, MIEPO, Iași County Council, Technopolis Science and Technology Park (Iași), Iași Chamber of Agriculture, MAC-P, a foreign investor who launched a business in Ungheni district.

At the event, the intention of collaboration was signed between the Ungheni and Berșadsc rayons, Vinnitsa region, Ukraine. Head of Delegation, Mr Micola Grabceac, President of the Berșadsc District, made a presentation and expressed confidence in the eloquent collaboration to be established between the two districts.

During the second half of the day, three workshops were organised on the topics of opportunities for business development in the region, promotion and encouragement of association in agriculture and community development through sustainable partnerships. The conclusions were manifold, the role of partnerships between different actors was highlighted as a prerequisite for the development of strategic projects, and the establishment of a common agenda will enhance collaboration in the implementation of the various actions.
