The general objective of setting up Business Incubators in the Republic of Moldova is to facilitate SMEs’ access to sources of finance, increase the number of competitive economic activities, strengthen the investment climate and reduce the unemployment rate in the target areas.

The Cimișlia Business Incubator is an institution that gives entrepreneurs with viable business ideas the chance to realise them in a suitable environment. Resident companies will benefit from low-cost production facilities or offices, entrepreneurial advice and training, advisory support when purchasing equipment, low management costs.
At the initial stage, the Incubator will host around 19 companies, out of the various spheres of activity, creating at least 60 new jobs. More than 70 % of residents will provide services (accounting, legal advice, photo-video services) and 30 % will be production-oriented (sewing workshop, printing).
The Cimișlia Business Incubator was created on the basis of the Policy Matrix for the Sectoral Support Programme ‘Economic Stimulation in Rural Areas’, which is financed by the EU, in line with the priorities of the Government of the Republic of Moldova in setting up business support infrastructure suited to the needs of the business environment, particularly in rural areas.
Business incubators have also been set up on Moldovan territory in the following districts: Soroca, Ștefan-Vodă, Leova, Rezina, Sângerei, Dubăsari Ceadâr-Lunga and Nisporeni. In December 2013, the Moldovan Business Incubators Network (RIAM) was established, which is a platform for cooperation created through a voluntary understanding of its members, with the aim of promoting the role of incubators in economic development and their recognition at national and international level.
