ODSME Business Assistance and Advisory Centre activities could be expanded
The Business Advisory Centre was initiated by ODIMM to facilitate entrepreneurs’ access to information on the business start-up process and to promote business development opportunities through programmes offered by ODIMM and other business institutions in the Republic of Moldova. Currently, the consultancy services of the nominated centre have also been taken over by the 9 business incubators, opened in the country’s districts.
JICA representatives, in a working meeting with ODIMM experts, mentioned that the Japan Agency intends to strengthen the support capacity provided to the Moldovan business sector by expanding the service capacities of the advisory centres, including for already trained enterprises, which require impetus for growth.
Horikawa Miho, Executive Director of the European Department of JICA, pointed out that the main activities that require implementation in a company already formed and with growth potential are the creation of the company’s image (branding), the organisation of the company following a well-developed organisational scheme and other tools needed for development.
According to the representative of JICA, as an institution of the Government of Japan, JICA is willing to work through ODIMM with the Government of the Republic of Moldova to identify all opportunities for technical cooperation and adaptation of the legal framework in the field of entrepreneurship, in order to enable the business sector in the Republic of Moldova to develop more dynamically.
Iulia Iabanji, Director-General ODIMM mentioned that JICA has been and continues to be a reliable partner for Moldovan entrepreneurship. So far, ODSME experts have paid more attention to the business start-up process and the schooling of future entrepreneurs, and the ODSME team is still in constant search for ways of developing the small and medium-sized business sector, and advisory services to experienced entrepreneurs would be an advanced stage of support for the business sector in Moldova by government institutions through development partners, said Iulia Iabanji.
According to the Director-General of ODIMM, this would provide opportunities for already trained businessmen to develop businesses, find export opportunities, create new jobs, which will help to exploit the opportunities offered by the EU-RM Association Agreement and the Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Area (DCFTA).
The Japan Agency for International Cooperation JICA was founded in 1974 as an implementing agency for technical assistancethe EC, geared towards institutional capacity building, business fortification and human resources development to help developing countries initiate sustainable economic and social development. In partnership with JICA, ODIMM initiated in the Republic of Moldova the institution of the Business Advisory and Assistance Centre (CC & AA), which is currently expanding to the country’s regions through the country’s 9 business incubators.
