The EBRD Business Advisory Services (BAS) programme has been operating in the Republic of Moldova since 2005 and aims to develop the competitiveness of small and medium-sized private enterprises (SMUs) and to increase the market for advisory services in Moldova. The programme provides financial assistance to SMEs for the implementation of advisory projects, support to women entrepreneurs, promotion of energy efficiency, as well as the organisation of activities aimed at developing the capacities of SMEs and consultancy companies, improving access to finance.

In 2012, with financial support from the Swedish Government, EBRD BAS launched the Women in Business Initiative to support female entrepreneurship. Under this initiative, BAS Moldova, in partnership with the company “INNOVA Management Consulting” (Bosnia and Herzegovina), will implement a training and capacity building programme for women entrepreneurs in the Republic of Moldova.
