Extra-country Moldovens are urged to open business and invest in Moldova. In Diaspora Days, the Organisation for the Development of Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (ODIMM) presented Economic Programmes and opportunities to promote the sustainable return and reintegration of migrants. Diaspora representatives were informed about how to launch a business in Moldova from money earned abroad or received from remittances and what steps are to be taken to access non-repayable funding.
At the briefing session, Director General ODIMM, Iulia Iabanji took stock of the regulations of the government policy framework on entrepreneurial activity in the country. According to Iabanji, Moldova’s state policies aim to create a favourable and attractive environment for the development of entrepreneurship, and young entrepreneurs or those who already have a business can benefit from various support tools such as: grants, soft loans, grants, consultations and training free of charge.
In the context, the IMMS Programmes supporting small and medium-sized enterprises were presented:Programme to attract remittances to the economy PARE 1+ 1, Credit Guarantee Fund, Pilot Programme “Femination in Business”, Business Advisory Service, etc.
The Director of ODIMM Iulia Iabanji reiterated that the authorities aim to bring outtoms closer to natal locations and the experience gained across borders could add value to the national economy. “ODIMM provides training, advice and business financing programmes. I refer, in particular, to the PARE 1+ 1 Programme for Drawing Emissions, which was launched at the end of 2010. Migrants returned at home have business ideas, desire and financial resources, but do not always know how to start a business. Through the PARE 1+ 1 programme our citizens can benefit from advice and training over two weeks and have the possibility to access a grant of up to RON 250.000, a ceiling that has recently been increased. Subsequently, during a 2-year post-financing period, ODIMM advises and supports these beneficiaries to develop and expand business", mentioned Iulia Iabanji.
In order to convince the representatives of the diaspora for the effectiveness of entrepreneurial support programmes, 2 successful histories of beneficiaries of ODIMM programmes were presented.
