180 entrepreneurs the Republic of Moldova has today signed funding contracts online under the Support Instrument on the digitalisation of the HMM. 57 of them will benefit from Grant up to Lei 200 thousand for the digitalisation of processes within the enterprise and other 123 – Business vouchers up to lei 20 thousand to access web-page development services and setting up on the social media pages of the business. Through an online session organised by the IMMOs, entrepreneurs were informed about the contractual arrangements and steps to take to make correct use of the grant and Business voucher obtained.

At the event, Minister for Economic Affairs and Infrastructure, Anatol Usatîi welcomed the perseverance and openness of entrepreneurs to implement new information technologies in the process of business digitalisation.

One of the lessons of the pandemic crisis is the imperative need for digitalisation of services and business in the country. I am happy to keep in less than half a year since the launch of the Support Instrument on digitising Small and Medium Enterprises there is an increased and continuous interest in the business environment in modernising, developing and digitising businesses. We will work assemb and continue to support the business in the country to succeed in overcoming the effects of the pandemic crisis’.

Director General ODIMM Iulia Costinappreciated the interest of entrepreneurs in the digitalisation of businesses and the reorientation of business towards the new market requirements.

I am glad that domestic entrepreneurs through the Digitalisation Support Instrument for Small and Medium-sized Enterprises modernise their marketing strategies and steer their business towards e-commerce. Under the current, no slight conditions through which society as a whole and the SME sector crosses, the use of information and digital technologies will significantly increase competitiveness both in the internal and external markets’.

Of those 180 companies selected for funding, 57 enterprises will receive grants of up to RON 200 thousand, and 123 will benefit from Business vouchers worth lei 20 thousand. Of total grant-holding companies 30 % are from agriculture and agri-food, 20 % of manufacturing, 5 % professional scientific and technical activities, 7 % active in information and communication technologies, 9 % – accommodation and food activities, 13 % – in other fields (education, medical services, translations, etc.).

Furthermore, through the Support Instrument, 123 enterprises access business voucher support in order to contract the development services of its website, setting on social media pages, developing the online profile and describing the company’s business and products, joining market-place platforms, offering online payment opportunities and integrated logistics issues.

Entrepreneurs receiving financial support include Ion Tașcă, from the Ciuciuleni Sate, Hâncești, it has an agricultural business, i.e. it owns lanes of vimps and cereals. With the grant, it aims to install a land monitoring system that will enable it to enter and collect data on quantities of crop crops, harvests, state of land, land graduate.

Thanks to the Support Instrument on the digitalisation of HEIs we will succeed in deploying this software we have already identified. This will allow us to monitor land performance, and also those of the company. Moreover, the system will also provide us with weather forecast for the region where we are located, and so we will know exactly how to schedule agricultural works.’.

Entrepreneur Iulian Alexa launched an online platform providing technical support in the digitalisation of businesses, such as: reception services for card payments, automated deliveries, automation of stocks, etc. “The support in Business voucher is a contribution to the investments we want to make further to improve the company’s capabilities. We are proposing to develop the market place to offer the best online trade services”.

The Support Instrument on the digitalisation of the HEIC was launched in June this year with the aim of supporting the digital transformation and development of small and medium-sized enterprises in order to unlock the innovative potential and facilitate companies’ access to domestic and external markets. The programme is financed from the State budget and complemented by European Union funds, implemented by the ODIMM, in agreement with the project “Readline of the Government of the Republic of Moldova in economic policies”, implemented by GIZ Moldova with the financial support of the Governments of Germany and Switzerland, as well as with implementing partners – GoOnline of the COR Association, Startup Moldova Programme developed by the TEKWILL project with the support of USAID, Sweden and UK aid.
