41 migrant-led companies or relatives first will access non-repayable financing worth up to lei 250 thousand for business start-up and development. The IMMO has today signed grant agreements with the winning companies under the Savings Programme (PARE 1+ 1) that will create more than 130 jobs in rural areas and bring more than lei 25 m of investments into the economy. ‘Pare 1+ 1’ is a 10-year programme implemented by DSOs for SMEs, financed by the State budget and supplemented by European Union funds.

Present at the event, the Secretary-General of the Ministry of Economy and Infrastructure, Lilia Palii, commended entrepreneurs and brought them successful in business development: “Despite the challenges posed by the COVID-19 crisis, I am happy to see that the number of people interested in opening up their own business is growing. I urge our citizens who returned home during the pandemic to be couraged and implement their business ideas through the “PARE 1+ 1” programme, mentioned Lilia Palii.

Iulia Costin, Director General ODIMM, has encouraged entrepreneurs to be inventially and always looking for new opportunities to succeed in developing successful business.

‘Each business financed by PAR 1+ 1 means a family of migrants back at home. We welcome that we can contribute both to the growth of the national economy and to the reunification of society. At the same time, the business environment in the country is becoming more prosperous and infrastructure is developing particularly in regions. In this way, we encourage all entrepreneurs with a business or business idea implementing it and ensuring their full support from the ODIMM", stressed Iulia Costin.

The European Union financially supports the “PARE 1+ 1” government programme. Out of these 41 investment projects, 20 businesses are financed by EU funds.

According to Gintautas Baranauskas, Deputy Head of Section Operations, Delegation of the European Union to the Republic of Moldova, tangible results achieved with European support to the SME sector remain successful histories.

“There are currently almost 20 different programmes that provide grants, loans and business development services made available to entrepreneurs in the country. However, I would like to stress that further efforts are needed to ensure a level playing field for SMEs”.

We would point out that beneficiaries’ applications were received and evaluated online during the state of emergency, and the financing contracts were signed taking all protection measures and complying with hygiene and social distancing rules against the spread of the COVID-19 virus.

Grant beneficiaries will develop business in areas such as: increase of grapes, prepevinces, cattles, manufacture of lighters and feed, bakery products and pasta products, manufacture of cereals, chocolate bomboss, chocolate bombos, manufacture of metal machinery and tools. At the same time, please note that, 10 business I am from domain provision of services recreational and tourism, construction, transport, maintenance and installation of sewerage and apeduct and dental systems.

Of the total number of companies accepted for financing, 80.5 % active in rural areas, and 19.5 % it operates in mun. Chisinau. Specifically, the City of Chișinău operates 8 undertakings, 5 in Florești raion, 4 in Hâncești and Căușeni, 3 companies are active in Glodeni rain 2 each in Ialoveni, Străcheni and Călărași and one company is active in New Anenian rays, Rezina, Dubăsari, Șoldănești, Ștefan Vodă, Cantemir, Leova, UTA Găgăuzia, Edineț, Drochia and Briceni.

Cthey 41 beneficiaries will invest remittances from work in 11 States: Italy -13, Russia -6, UK -5, France – 4, 3 Germany, Romania and Israel each, and one applicant each from Austria, Cyprus, Switzerland and San Marino.

Throughout this year were accepted for financing 80 business in total amount of Lei 19.59 mthis will foster investment in the economy of around Lei 51.62 million.

Pso far, the Programme has registered 3053 persons and have been trained 2503 beneficiaries. Access to non-repayable funding has been facilitated through the “PARE 1+ 1” programme for 1650 companiesin total amount of Lei 338,85 mln. The total value of planned investment in the economy amounts to about lei 1 016.2 million. Thus, each leu in the form of grants generates approximately lei 3 investments in the economy. The programme is subsidised by the State budget and supplemented by European Union funds through the ‘support for SMEs in rural areas’ project.
