Antreprenorul’s Professional Day was marked in Chisinau. First edition gathered officials, entrepreneurs and finance experts
27 June 2024, Chisinau The Ministry of Economic Development and Digitalisation, together with the Entrepreneurship Development Organisation, organised the first edition of the Entrepreneurship Day, which brought together more than 100 participants, including government officials, entrepreneurs and representatives of the banking sector.
The event started with welcome messages from officials.
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Economic Development and Digitalisation Dumitru Alaiba said that entrepreneurs are the pillars of our economy and the main beneficiaries of the reforms promoted.
“We support our entrepreneurs through our reforms, funding and advisory programmes. Our initiatives provide concrete support for business development. We will continue to improve state policies to make it easier for more companies to access finance and build a business environment conducive to development "mentioned Dumitru Alaiba.
In charge of business ad interim at the Delegation of the European Union, Magdalena Mueller-Uri came with a message to entrepreneurs in Moldova.
“I congratulate the Government, entrepreneurs and all citizens of the Republic of Moldova on the official opening of EU accession negotiations, a truly historic step for both Moldova and the European Union. The accession process and subsequent alignment with EU principles will contribute to further improving the business environment and unleashing the growth potential of SMEs. The EU project for a sustainable, innovative, green and competitive economy (EU4SMEs), a EUR 8 million ODA grant is just a continuation of our strategic support to Moldovan SMEs.”
Present at the event, MEP and Chair of the Committee on Economy, Budget and Finance, Radu Marian reaffirmed our country’s commitment to developing entrepreneurship.
“In the context of Yearbook Day, we reiterate our strong commitment to creating a friendly business environment and supporting entrepreneurial initiatives. We will continue to simplify bureaucratic procedures, reduce administrative burden and improve access to finance for entrepreneurs,” said Radu Marian.
A message of appreciation and gratitude for entrepreneurs also conveyed Finance Minister Petru Rotaru.
“Every entrepreneur is a key partner in building a strong and sustainable economy. Entrepreneur’s Business Day is an opportunity to recognise their valuable contribution and foster a favourable business climate based on collaboration and mutual trust "said Petru Rotaru.
The event provided a platform for interactive discussions and sessions, making it easier for entrepreneurs to access key information on financing and developing small and medium-sized businesses. One of the central themes was access to finance, where Alina Cebotariov, Deputy Director of ODA, presented the opportunities offered by ODA through the Guarantee Fund and the 373 Government Programme.
The 20 new recipients of ODA grants were also announced at the event. They accessed RON 6.21 million in non-repayable financing, with planned investments of RON 8.6 million.
In the closing message, Alina Cebotariov, Deputy Director of ODA, expressed his sincere congratulations to the entrepreneurs and expressed his deep appreciation for the contribution of the ODA team in fulfilling the mission of the organisation.

Over the past two years, some 8.300 entrepreneurs have been supported through advisory services, training and grant programmes managed by ODA, reaching a total grant of RON 2.5 billion. With the implementation of various projects, entrepreneurs created and maintained around 16.760 jobs. Their investments in the economy amount to approximately RON 4.8 billion.
The ‘Antreprene Day’ professional holiday was established by Government Decision on 29 May this year and will be marked on 27 June each year.
