Opening of the Ceadar-Lunga ADRIAN CANDU Business IncubatorOn 10 July this year, the official opening ceremony of the Business Incubator in the city of Ceadâr-Lunga (IACL) took place.


The event was attended by Mr Adrian CANDU, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Economy; H.E. Mr Pirkka TAPIOLA, Head of Delegation of the European Union to the Republic of Moldova; Mr Mihail Formusial, bashkan of Gagauze Autonomy; representatives of local public authorities and business.


“The Business Incubator is an effective tool to support small and medium-sized enterprises in the start-up phase, thanks to the many facilities offered to incubated enterprises”he mentioned Iulia Iabanji, Director-General of the Organisation for the Development of Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (ODIMM).

It is the sixth business incubator opened with us in the country with the financial support of the EU, and by the end
two additions are scheduled to open during the year. These institutions play an important role in the development of local economies

The importance of opening up the Business Incubator. Ceadâr-Lunga was underlined by H.E. Pirkka TAPIOLA, Head of Delegation of the European Union to the Republic of Moldova: ‘99 % of businesses in the European Union are small and medium-sized enterprises. This talks about the crucial role these companies play in the European economy. Supporting the development of small and medium-sized enterprises is essential for economic development.

The bashkan of Gagauzia, Mikhail Formusial, urged businesses, but also young people who want to start a business, to benefit from the services of the Business Incubator: ‘Everyone who has good ideas, a business plan will necessarily be supported”.


Business incubator in Ceadâr-Lunga in the initial phase, it will host 12 companies, from various sectors of the economy, which will create at least 32 new jobs. By the end of this year, the Incubator aims to incubate up to 22 small companies, which in turn will provide at least 60 jobs.


Business incubator in Ceadâr-Lunga will be a member of the Network of Business Incubators of the Republic of Moldova (RIAM)together with the business incubators opened in recent years in the Soroca, Ștefan Vodă, Leova, Ungheni, Rezina, Sângerei and Dubăsari districts.


The Ceadâr-Lunga Business Incubator was created on the basis of the Policy Matrix for the Sectoral Support Programme ‘Economic Boosting in Rural Areas’, financed by the EU, in line with the priorities of the Government of the Republic of Moldova in establishing business support infrastructure suited to the needs of the business environment, particularly in rural areas.


The creation of the Business Information Network in the districts of the Republic is one of the priorities of the Government of the Republic of Moldova in setting up business support infrastructure suited to the needs of the business community, particularly in rural areas.
