66 business created by Moldovan migrant workers or their relatives will receive non-repayable grant under PARE 1+ 1
Today, 23 April saw the meeting of the Oversight Committee of the “PARE 1+ 1” programme, where 66 investment projects, submitted by migrant workers and their relatives, were accepted for financing.
Investment projects focus on cumulative investment of approximately lei 46 million, whereas the amount of grants required under the Programme amounted to lei 12 million. As a result, the required leu under “Phare 1+ 1” will attract approximately lei 5 investments in the economy.
The institution implementing the Programme is the Organisation for the Development of the Sector of Small and Medium Enterprises (ODIMM).
Analysis applications for funding indicates that Moldovan migrant workers who want to invest remittances in their own business have working mostly in Italy – 40 %, Russia – 15 %; USA — 7 %, PortugalSpain — 7 %, Ireland – 4 %, etc.
Migrant workers invest the accumulated savings mostly in agriculture (series, refrigerated deposits, livestock farms), industry (gross, construction materials, furniture, lighters), services, tourism, construction.
Territorial distribution shows that the majority of applications received from the Centre area of the Republic (55 %), followed by North (18 %) and South (14 %), the City of Chișinău holding 13 %.
We reiterate that,under the “PARE 1+ 1” programme migrant workers and their relatives benefit from advice and information on business development opportunities, projects in the country, sources of financing for an investment project, legislative aspects of entrepreneurial activity, etc.
Furthermore, in line with the improvement of entrepreneurial knowledge and skills, participants are trained in seminars, which are run on modules of a total duration of 50 academic hours (10 working days) and include the following topics:business registration, management, marketing, accounting, business planning, etc.
The budget for the “PARE 1+ 1” programme is lei 32 million, i.e. the amount of grants to be contracted additionally during 2013 is lei 20 million.
