Today, 12 March, today, 15 young people from the Republic of Moldova were awarded for their best business plans at the Seed Forum and the closing conference of the Joint Opportunities in Business for Youth project. A total of 60 young people from the Republic of Moldova and Ukraine were trained in entrepreneurship and participated in a number of activities, which ended with the presentation of the business plan and the award of the best and realistic ideas with a socio – economic and cross-border impact.
Present at the event, Vasile Vulpe, Head of Economic Policy and Business Environment, Ministry of Economy and Infrastructure, stressed that young people are a driving force of a country’s economy and supporting them in starting and developing businesses is a priority and a continuous concern of the Ministry of Economy and Infrastructure.
Petru Gurgurov, Acting Director-General of the Organisation for the Development of Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (ODIMM), highlighted the role and mission of the organisation in supporting entrepreneurs in the Republic of Moldova, including for young people, through a number of support programmes. “Through this project, activities were targeted involving increasing young people’s entrepreneurial and managerial skills through the application of modern and innovative techniques, the development of realistic business plans, the promotion and stimulation of team spirit, various ways of presentation,” said Petru Gurgurov.
Vladimir Pavel, Director of the Administrative Council of the ‘New European Generation’ Youth Organisation in Ismail, Ukraine, mentioned that through this project young people had gained experience; they learned to structure and prioritise their business ideas and develop them in their home countries.
Tatiana Udrea, representative of the German Cooperation Agency (GIZ Moldova), wished to congratulate the organisations that successfully implemented this project and encouraged several organisations to apply for funding projects under the Moldova-Ukraine Cross Border Cooperation Programme.
Please note that the 60 young people were trained and then guided by 10 professional mentors to develop or define concrete business plans. Young beneficiaries, as well as other young people willing to launch and develop a business, will be able to continue to benefit from support in the development of business plans and consultations through e-PLATFORMEI, launched under the project.
Participants in the event were provided with additional information and materials on other entrepreneurial support instruments offered under the National Programmes managed by ODIMM.
The project is funded by the European Union under the Moldova-Ukraine Cross Border Cooperation Programme and implemented by the Organisation for the Development of Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (ODIMM) in partnership with the “New Generation Europe” Public Youth Organisation of Ukraine, from 13 December, 2017-12 March 2019.
