57 businesses created by migrant workers or their relatives will receive financial support from the “PARE 1 + 1” programme
Today, 4 April, the first meeting of the Monitoring Committee of the “PARE 1 + 1” programme was held in 2014, where 57 investment projects submitted by migrant workers and their relatives were accepted for funding.
The investment projects concern cumulative investments of approximately RON 48 million, while the amount of grants requested under the Programme represents approximately RON 11 million. As a result, RON 1 granted under “PARE 1 + 1” will attract 4,35 LEI investments in the economy.
Analysis of funding applications shows that Moldovan migrant workers invest the savings accumulated predominantly in Agriculture — 54 % (crop – cereals, vines, tree nurseries, growing flowers in greenhouses, walnuts, baciferous crops; the crop associated with: animal husbandry, provision of mechanised services, storage of fruit in refrigerators; livestock farming (pigs, quails, horned pears); provision of services in agriculture); Production/Processing – 22 % (wood processing/furniture production; lighters/pellets; building materials; bread/pastry (covrigi); ice cream; fruit drying); Provision of services – 21 % (repair and maintenance of motor vehicles; construction; leisure – sports club based on electronic games (billiards, air hockey, X-Box, etc.); electronic line services); Catering – 1 enterprise.
It is important to note that 61 % of the undertakings accepted by the Supervisory Committee are newly created businesses with a period of activity of less than 12 months and 20 % are businesses created by women.
We reiterate thatN PARE 1 + 1 programme migrant workers and their relatives receive advice and information on business development opportunities, projects in the country, sources of financing for an investment project, legislative aspects of entrepreneurial activity, etc.
In addition, for improving entrepreneurial knowledge and skills, participants are trained in seminars, which are carried out in modules with the following topics: business registrationII, management, marketing, accounting, business planning, etc. During the first quarter of 2014, 7 training courseswhere they have been trained 149 migrant workers and their first degree relatives.
The programme is carried out under the ‘1 + 1’ rule, which stipulates that each leu invested from remittances will be replaced by a leu from the PARE. The maximum amount of financing granted is RON 200 thousand.
In this respect, ODSMEs call on their willing to start or develop businesses in order to gain entrepreneurial knowledge and non-repayable financial support.
