52 young people from North and the Country Centre received PNAET training
52 young people from the Călărași and Edineț districts received today their graduation diplomas for training courses under the National Programme for the Economic Ability of Young People (PNAET), administered by the Organisation for the Development of the Small and Medium-sized Enterprises Sector (ODIMM).In the first nine months of the year, some 300 young people from the districts of Comrat, Dondușeni, Strășeni, Ocnița, Ungheni, Vulcănești and Cimișlia received entrepreneurial skills training for young people who want to start or expand a business in rural municipalities.
According to studies carried out by ODIMM, for 59 % of respondents the main motivation to follow the PNAET training component is the desire to acquire entrepreneurial knowledge, 24.5 % – finding new partners, winter 16.5 % opted for identifying new business ideas.
Only 6 % of young people who participated in PNAET training courses in the first nine months of 2017 own a business, with the remaining 94 % aiming to start a business. At the same time, a good proportion of young people, around 69 % are not in employment and another 31 % are in employment. The high share of unemployed people is due to the age of 18-25 when most young people are students but plan for their future.

After finishing the training courses, half of the beneficiaries were determined to set up their own business within the next 6 and 12 months, and the rest opted for a period of 24 months.
According to the data provided by the Directorate of Credit Line at the Ministry of Finance, in the first nine months of 2017, 159 businesses were financed, which took out preferential loans in the amount of RON 45 million for a period of 5 years, with a grant component of approximately RON 18 million.
The National Youth Economic Skills Programme (PNAET) aims to increase the role of young people in the social – economic life of the country by setting up new businesses in rural municipalities and developing existing ones, creating new jobs. Earlier this year, the Government decided to extend the PNAET programme until 2017. Some 170 businesses will be financed this year with a total budget of RON 50 million and a grant component of RON 20 million. The age limit for potential beneficiaries of the programme, from 30 to 35 years, has also been changed.
