The main motivation for young people to follow the PNAET training component was the desire to acquire entrepreneurial knowledge – 50 % of respondents, finding new partners, around 30 %, and the remaining 20 % opted for finding new business ideas.
Some 20 % of young people who participated in PNAET training courses in the first six months of 2017 already own a business and the remaining 80 % plan to start a business. At the same time, a good proportion of young people, around 60 % are not in employment and another 40 % are in employment. The high share of unemployed people is due to the age of 18-25 when most young people are studying but are already planning their future.
After finishing the training courses, half of the beneficiaries were determined to set up their own business within the next 6 and 12 months, and the rest opted for a period of 24 months.
According to the data provided by the Directorate of Credit Line to the Ministry of Finance, in the first semester of 2017, 120 businesses were financed, which took out preferential loans in the amount of RON 35 million for a period of 5 years, with a grant component of approximately RON 14 million.
