This exercise carried out together with the company EFES Moldova is beneficial for supporting the local business environment and developing regional infrastructure. We will continue to work for partnerships with other private companies that aim at social responsibility and local development", said Dumitru Pîntea, interim director of ODIMM.
“The role of large companies such as Ephesus Moldova is not limited to producing and paying taxes. We must be a model and partner for business development, to transfer our knowledge and experience to those who have the courage to launch business. Women who today are beneficiaries of our joint grants with ODIMM are extremely courageous, which is why we considered that they deserve support, covering 100% of the requested grant amounts. Because they will be the engine of the families and communities they represent. They will also provide opportunities for other people.
We have found in ODIMM a valuable partner, who knows the sector and the challenges of IIMs and who makes considerable efforts to help them achieve their plans and dreams. With every business we fund together, we take a step towards strengthening the core of this country and its prosperity", stressed Alphan Akpece, General Manager EFES Moldova.
In this context, the company representatives reiterated the openness to continue the partnership with ODIMM regarding the financial support of women in the regions in order to have their own business. At the same time, they assured that the current beneficiaries will be involved in EFES Moldova's volunteering, knowledge transfer programs, including the company will purchase products manufactured by women entrepreneurs to support local businesses.
Among the lucky ones who have received financial support are: Cristina Morari from Alava village, Ştefan Vodă. She has a beekeeping business, which resulted from the entrepreneur's passion for beekeeping.
Cristina cared together with her father for several bee families, saw what a complex life they have, how the work is done in the apiary, how honey is harvested and how bees are cared for/breededed. This led her to start a business at home, in her native village, where she would combine her father's beekeeping knowledge with the love that the whole family has for bees. As a result, they started producing organic honey and at the same time made a profit by developing the tradition of healthy honey consumption in the country.
“We currently have 40 beehives and a rich experience in breeding, caring for and breeding bees. Detained families will be bred to inhabit the 170 beehives and create a modern prisa. In the future we aim to develop the business, making ourselves known on the market, to create the label and packaging for honey products and to pack it ourselves. This funding is the starting pillar, the foundation that ensures the existence and development of the business, and I am grateful to both ODIMM and ‘Efes Vitanta Moldova Brewery’ for co-financing their contribution to the implementation of the investment project.’
Another beneficiary of the ODIMM-EFES partnership is Valentina Buhnă from Vărzăreşti village, Nisporeni who set out to develop a delicious business. The main activity of the enterprise is based on the production and dehydration of fruits, vegetables and seeds.
‘The business started from a device purchased for the family, but which ended up dehydrating fruits and vegetables for other consumers as well. Thanks to the non-reimbursable funding through the Women in Business Programme, we are going to expand our business, buy a dehydrator, convection oven, oven trays, teflon sheets, etc. We thank ODIMM and Efes Moldova for their financial support, we will definitely apply to other entrepreneurial support programmes”, he mentioned Valentina Buhnă.
