Present at the Committee meeting, the Minister for Economic Affairs and Infrastructure reiterated his support for female entrepreneurs. “Today, I am glad that a further 100 families will stay at home. We need their resilience, dedication and contribution. I assure you that you are all of my medium", mentioned Chiril Gaburici.
“This Programme is a launch point for women who want to develop a business but do not have sufficient financial resources and entrepreneurial skills. We approved the first 100 investment projects and not a first one here, we will continue to support female entrepreneurship”, said Petru Gurgurov, acting Director General of the IMMO.2Femor
One third of investment projects are in services – accounting, educational, human resources, legal, statistical, etc., and 28 % in production and processing. 27 % of entrepreneurs also plan to invest in the textile industry and 13 % – in agriculture and zootechnics. Most beneficiaries of the Programme are doing business throughout the territory of the Republic of Moldova, with the most active municipalities being Chișinău, Sgerei, Hincești, Soroca, Găgăuzia, Orhei and Cimișlia.
3FemUnder Component I of the Programme: In the course of 2017, 15 entrepreneurial courses were organised in the course of 2017. More than 400 women have thus been trained and guided for 6 days of experts in the field on the necessary steps to launch and develop a business. After the training phase, women benefited from individual entrepreneurial consultancy services. As a result, 179 companies were created, generating 443 jobs, of which 83 % are for women and 63 % for young people aged up to 35.
At this point in time, Component II of the Programme is ongoing: ‘Base of newly created business’ to which companies registered from 0 to 24 months and managed by women can apply. Small grants under the competition are awarded at this stage. Two further calls for competition will be launched in the course of 2018. The maximum amount of grants under Component II will not exceed the amount of RON 165.000/beneficiary, which may be used to purchase investment items and business development services.7Femor
In autumn 2016, the Moldovan government launched the “Food Business” pilot programme managed by the IMMO. The implementation period for this programme is 3 years. Of the State budget, RON 51.5 million will be allocated. This government initiative aims to promote economic and social skills in rural areas by reducing gender inequality, growth and business development, changing innovative perception, increasing access to modern resources, services and technologies.
