Over the period 8 April – 7 July 2024 Moldova will take place Population and housing censuses (RPL). Census a national-wide activity taking place every 10 years. The aim of the census is to obtain statistical data on the number and territorial distribution of the country’s population and housing. As part of the census, data are collected on each person from the household (e.g.: year and place of birth, place of living, language spoken, education level, occupation and a.a.) and data about dwelling (such as sewerage and water supply, heating mode, surface area and building materials of the dwelling, etc.).

As of 8 April, a reviewer will visit your home and Vă will ask questions from the census questionnaire and the answers will record them on tablet. The Recenzoer will make the document of the reviewer mandatory and carry the westment with an identity letter of the LPR, including: West, chip, tricou, rucsac, tablet, all with the logo of the Census 2024.

Each person must participate in the census and respond fully and correctly to the review questionnaire. According to Law No 231/2022 on population and housing censuses, participation in the census is mandatory.

The data you will offer at the Recensation are confidential and compliant protected Law 231/2022 on population and housing censuses and Law 93/2017 on official statistics. These data will only be used for statistical purposes for the compilation and dissemination of census results on different population characteristics in a generalised form, without it being possible to identify personal data.

Participation in the census is a legal obligation, but also civic. The data collected will be the basis for development projects at local and country level. By participating in the census, we contribute to a better understanding of the community. Responses will be used to produce statistics that will give a picture of life in Moldova and how it changes.
