Notice on the competition for innovation and technology transfer projects for 2013.

The Agency for Innovation and Technology Transfer of the Moldovan Academy of Sciences launches the competition for innovation and technology transfer projects for 2013 with funding from the state budget of up to 50 % of the total project cost.

Mandatory requirement: The mandatory condition for the application of innovation and technology transfer projects is the deployment of a novel innovation or technology for the Republic of Moldova.

Implementation period:The implementation period for innovation and technology transfer projects is maximum 2 years (2013-2014).

Project budget:Innovation and technology transfer projects shall be financed from the state budget up to 50 percent, with priority being given to projects with a higher share of co-financing.

The total budget of the project may not exceed a maximum of 2 m RON for one year.

Source of funding:The source of funding for innovation and technology transfer projects shall be no more than 50 % of the State budget calculated from the total value of the project and at least 50 % from the economic operator as co-financing from its own sources.

Co-financing may be carried out by financial means or machinery necessary to carry out the project procured during the period of the technology transfer project.

Objective: Developing an economy based on innovation and transfer of new technologies, by stimulating and developing innovative SMEs.

Target group: small and medium-sized enterprises and institutions in the field of science and innovation in the Republic of Moldova.

Eligibility criteria of the organisation-implementers:

  1. 1.For private economic operators
    1. a.It is solvent.
    2. b.He does not possess attributable factors to the State budget.
    3. C.It is able to guarantee the amount of co-financing throughout the project period. As evidence will provide a letter of guarantee.
    4. d.He is not involved in a civil/penal process.
    5. e.He or she is resident of one of the scientific and technological parks or innovation incubators.
  2. 2.For science and innovation organisations.
    1. a.It is either accredited in one of the strategic directions to which the project applies
    2. b.It is capable of guaranteeing the amount of co-financing throughout the project period or by co-financing by an economic operator who will be a beneficiary of innovation at the end of the project. As evidence will provide a letter of guarantee from the beneficiary.

Activities mainthe best projects will be funded under the competition. Successful SMEs will benefit from 50 % for the implementation of its business plan. The business idea must be in the following strategic directions:

  1. Harnessing human, natural and information resources for sustainable development.
  2. Biomedicine, pharmaceuticals, maintenance and fortification of health.
  3. Agricultural biotechnology, soil fertility and food security.
  4. Nanotechnologies, industrial engineering, new products and materials.
  5. Making the energy complex more efficient and ensuring energy security, including by using renovable resources.

Deadline: Projects will be submitted by 30 September 2012 at 16:00.

Results: The initiative funded under the competition for innovation and technology transfer projects will help achieve the following results:

— creating favourable conditions for the development of SMEs through the application of new innovations and technologies.

— creating innovative products on the domestic and international markets.

— development of innovative infrastructure;

— ensuring the connection between business and research;

— promoting innovation and technology transfer activity in the country as well as its borders, etc.

Presentation conditions: The projects will be presented in 2 paper and electronic copies accompanied by letters of guarantee to the Innovation and Technology Transfer Agency.
